OPERATION:Resurrection
By the order of: SSgt(A) Daniel Gibson, Platoon Sergeant
Launch Date: 30 June 2008
Deadline: 30 September 2008
Objective: The objective of this operation is to increase overall unit activity through the implementation of games, activities, features, competitions, and the recruitment and retention of Reserve Members.
Plan of Action: The current active members will set up a time and day of the week where we can meet and have an informal meeting of the minds. In this meeting we will access our unit’s situation and brainstorm on ideas to improve unit activity as described in the objective of this operation.
First, we should design a recruitment letter that will inform all of our reservists of the activity of our unit since their placement in the reserves. We should create a corresponding thread in the Private Army Forum, where reservists can discuss the conditions upon which they are returning, and what they can offer the unit.
Second, we should motivate our active members to get back on track with the trades and qualifications. I have noticed a massive difference in the number of trades submitted since summer leave. I know we only have a few active members during this summer, but that is no reason to quit submitting trades and quals.
Third, this is the perfect time to begin developing features that can be used now and in the future. This task would be assigned to Tpr(A) Stewart, Esprit de Corps Advisor. If we go ahead and make features in advance, it will be easier to implement them in the future.
Last, I will be looking into some offsite military based Multiplayer Role Playing Games to give our unit a combat aspect that we could use for mock battles, and training support. There are a lot of options in this area, and it has the potential to be used in the other units in the WCC if we find success in it here.
Conclusion: I expect that through this operation we will gain some old faces from the Reserves, and improve the overall experience for the recruits and active cadets in the unit. This will not be an easy operation, and will require the participation of all of our active members in a collective effort. I do believe that if we show the others that we are willing to improve our unit, they will follow our example. |
