Welcome to the second month of 2010!  We're looking like we're on the right track of being a strong force to contend with for the year, and let's keep it that way!

February is bringing some changes to the unit, some of which have been announced on the forums, and you will see/have seen take effect over the month:

1. "Alpha Company" shall from this point forward be known as "1st Marines Company"

2. Within this Company shall be two platoons: Cobra Platoon and Airborne Detachment

3. Cobra Platoon shall be composed of Marines personnel and staffed by Marine officers and NCO's; Airborne Detachment shall be composed of Army personnel and staffed by Army officers and NCO's

This opens up four positions for staffing:

Platoon Commander, Cobra Platoon
Platoon Sergeant, Cobra Platoon
Platoon Commander, Airborne Detachment
Platoon Sergeant, Airborne Detachment

Hello Alpha Company!

I have been appointed as your new Executive Officer, and i can tell your all extatic about it :-)

The job spec for XO is rather illusive. I consider XO as a support role, i support the RSM and the CO in whatever they need. The CO has asked me to deal with the unit OSG affairs, so the conduct and appointment of the unit admin, site maintenance and training matters shall be my arena.

I dont encourage jumping the chain of command, but i do encourage you to come and chat to me so we can get to know each other. For each person who comes to chat to me shall get 10 Ollie Dollars...a valueless currency, but a bit of fun ;)

Alright, troops! My name is Sergeant Major Doug Campbell. You may call me Sergeant Major. Not sir, as I work for a living. Sergeant Major. It will bring great joy to my heart to hear this...potentially death to yours if I don't. Do you maggots understand that? (Yes, I'm full of FMJ quotes and can, have and will use them wherever possible!)

As far as WCC is concerned, I've been everywhere, done everything. I've been to the very top of both chains and done it well (or so I've been told.) What does this mean for you?

- 99% of the time, the SgtMaj is correct. The SgtMaj also allows for a 1% margin of error
- I've got a LOT of experience and knowledge that I can, have and will (if asked nicely) pass on to you
- My style of leadership puts the CADET first. I can, have and will (if asked nicely) go to bat for any of my cadets.
- I am extremely active within the WCC. If something needs doing, I will do it.
- I believe strongly in NCO development and will make you the best you can be...like it or not!

I came here for one reason: to kick this unit into high gear. I could've retired on my Admiral pension, but no. I came back here to help you and to get my hands dirty! NCOs RUN the Corps, and its time to make everyone remember that!
