Good Afternoon
Rangers!
Most of you know me already,
so no long introduction is needed. I'm Warrant Officer(A) Daniel Gibson,
and I'm here to motivate this unit, raise it's standards, and ultimately take
it to new heights. The WCC Army Section has been through everything that
a Unit in the WCC could possibly go through, and still we stand strong.
At this time, we are the LARGEST Section
in the WCC. This gives us the advantage in many aspects, but there is one
in particular that I have set my sights on: The Robert Burns Trades Trophy! That's right. With 3
1/2 months to go, we're constantly gaining ground on the dominant WCC
Navy. I believe in each and every one of
you, and trust that I will be receiving your best effort for the duration of
this race to the trades trophy. This
victory will not come from the backs of the few, but from the strength of the
many. To put it in simpler terms: We have some cadets who are extremely active,
and some who are just getting used to everything and we need to balance that
activity out so that we have a constant flow of Trades from now until the end
of this competition. I, myself, admit
that I have been slacking when it comes to trades due to my various other
commitments in the WCC, but that is changing as of right now. As your RSM, I will
NEVER ask you to do something that I am not willing to do myself.
Second on my agenda,
I would like to highlight the new Honor Platoon
Competition. According to your
participation in the various activities offered by the Corps, you will be
awarded points that will count for your platoon. In addition, you will also be awarded points
for participating in Platoon vs. Platoon features and arcade tournaments, as
well as merits that can be awarded by the CO, and I for outstanding
achievements. The complete scoring scale
can be found in the Platoon Area at: http://army.webcadets.com/platoon.php. There will be a new feature every two weeks,
and a new tournament every week, so everybody will be expected to be on top of
their game if they wish to earn the Honor
Platoon Star that will be awarded to the Platoon with the most points
each quarter. The Honor Platoon Star
will be displayed in the Platoon Area, Hall of Honor, and in your forums
signature (pending approval).
Last on my list of
things to do, something I have dubbed "Field
Training Exercises". A
quarterly competition between the Web Cadet Ranger Regiment, and any other unit
in the WCC. The exercise will consist of
a number of features, tournaments, and activities that will give us a chance to
flex our muscles and show the WCC that we are indeed the Strongest Unit in the
Corps.
The FIRST Field Training Exercise will begin on 01 September 2008
and end on 31 December 2008. The winner
will take home some bling and the newly designed "Soldier's Trophy", so Rangers, prepare yourself and each
other for what promises to be the toughest challenge we have faced to date.
In closing, I would
like to say that it is going to be an honor serving as your Regimental Sergeant
Major! I have an open door policy, which
means I will be online and at your disposal any time that you may need me. I would like to remind everyone that
conversation and general questions are one thing, and matters with your
squad/platoon are another. If you are
having a problem, please remember to take it to your superior according to the
chain of command. I will hear about it
and resolve the situation as it comes up the chain of command. The people who have been placed in charge of
your squads and platoons have been instructed to keep us informed on a constant
basis as to what is going on, so please let them do their jobs. This is a general warning to everyone: Those who jump the chain of command will have
to face consequences for their actions.
If you are unsure of your chain of command, it is posted in the Command
Quarters found here: http://army.webcadets.com/command.php. Again, I would like to thank you all for this
opportunity and I give you my solemn promise that I will put forth my best
effort to motivate this unit, raise our standards, and reach to the peak of our
potential as a unit.
RANGERS LEAD THE
WAY!
